Survey 2024: Bawumia as flagbearer, Alan as assistantship personnel

Majority leader Frank Annoh-Dompreh called for a partnership between Bawumia and Allen before the 2024 presidential election.

In his opinion, Dr. Mahamudo Bawumia as the presidential candidate, with Alan Kieremateng as his deputy, was the best for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

This is a prerequisite for the success of this great tradition, he said.

“The Bawumia-Alan project is a must for the success of this great tradition… I'm all in!” Tweeted Nsavam-Adoagiri MP, Monday (20 December).

Although he has not officially stated his intention to apply for the position of flag bearer for the nuclear power plant, Dr. Bavumia and Lord Kyerematen launch a campaign to elect the candidate of their choice.

On Sunday, December 19, at the NPP delegation conference in Kuamsi, supporters of the two campaigning figures were seen trying to draft their candidates.

Supporter of dr. Bawumia was seen singing and dancing when the Vice President arrived at the location.

Similarly, followers of Alan Kirematten also led the procession from the Institute of Management and Public Administration in Ghana (GIMPA), the Kumasi campus, to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The crowd included various support groups from Alan Queens, Alan Special Ladies, Alpha Men, and many others.

President Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Ado said at the event that he was determined to hand power over to the next resident candidate for the nuclear power plant on January 7, 2025 after the 2024 general election.

He said the nuclear power plant was determined to break the 8-year cycle to maintain the economic growth recorded under his leadership.

He said: “I am determined to pass the baton on to the next candidate for the post of NPP President.

"We want to break the number 8 not only for ourselves but also for Ghana, because we know the zigzag, nuclear power plants are coming to clean it up, to pollute it, so no progress will be brought to our country.

“We need a secure government to permanently change the fate of our nation, and we are able to do that. We will find a candidate who will unite our party, and we will all work hard to ensure this candidate becomes the next President of the Republic.

He also urged NPP members to accept internal competition as competition is part of a political exercise, but warned the party about unfair competition that would hinder the party's determination to run an 8-year cycle in the next general election to break through.

Akufo-Ado said: “Competition, we cannot avoid competition. There will be competition, but let this competition help the party and not get in the way so we can break 8 in 2024."

He also mocked the Democratic National Congress (NDC) of the largest opposition party when asked about the only policy that the NDC and former President John Mahama have held in opposition for five years.

“We have spent more money to improve the situation of our people than any government in the 4th Republic. So if you leave here, be proud of the fact that you have created a government that is most passionate about improving people's lives of any other government in the history of this country.

“Everything we do in government is what we think about in the opposition. There is no single policy, the answer is zero," said the President.
