The victim is fighting for her life at the Efia Nkwanta Regional Hospital

A Ghanaian navy officer in the west is fighting for his life after he was attacked by suspected car thieves in Bacado near Sekondi on Wednesday night.

Okire Boateng, who works as a driver for Bolt at night to supplement his income, was attacked after the suspect stopped him in Ketan due to hail and a trip to Chocoloate City, a popular pub in Sekondi.

Okiere Boateng spoke to Connect FM's Paa Kvesi Simpson on Thursday (December 23) about his ordeal and said he had left and returned to Nkroful when stopped by a potential attacker at VRA.

He said he was told they would stop at Bacado.

Just as he stopped to leave their accomplice, one of them in the back seat poured petrol over him and quickly lit a match, which was supposed to light it.

He screamed for help and the attackers chased after them.

Several maids collided with him and took him to the Efia Nkwanta District Hospital.

Since then, according to our report, Okyere Boateng has been admitted to the 37th Military Hospital for additional medical treatment.
