"The Confidence Reposed On Me Laudable"- PM To Assembly Members

Honourable Bernard Amoako-Attah, Presiding Member of Abuakwa South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region of Ghana who doubles as the Assemblyman for Akyem Asafo Electoral area has expressed his unflinching gratitude to all the Assembly Members and Government Appointees for honouring his words with massive 100 percent yes votes that led to the confirmation of Honourable Akosua Asabea Annor as the Municipal Chief Executive.

The Honourable Presiding Member said, apathy nearly engulfed the Municipality after the nomination of Honourable Akosua Asabea Annor by the President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo.

He explained that, a lot of consultations were made by him and other stakeholders to bring the situation to normalcy hence his appreciations to the Assembly Members and Government Appointees.

"First and foremost, we thank God and our Honourable Assembly Members, we all admit that, Abuakwa South is the president's Municipality, for that reason, rejecting his nominee would have had huge implications. After the nomination, there were one or two skirmishes but we quickly put ourselves together to honour our obligation. I once told a friend that, I would have stepped down if one rejection ensued. I hereby thank all for making my leadership as a Presiding Member at this herculean time a success." Hon Bernard Amoako-Attah said.

It could be recalled that, some aggrieved netizens of Akyem Apedwa in the Abuakwa South Municipality embarked on a demonstration to register their displeasure of the president's nominee, Honourable Akosua Asabea Annor for the Municipal Chief Executive's position instead of their preferred choice who was the incumbent Honourable Ofori Sarfo.
