"I Will Work With All For Speedy Development Of Abuakwa North" - Alhaji Bodinga

Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive of Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region of Ghana, has in his acceptance speach expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, for the confidence reposed in him following his nomination as the Municipal Chief Executive.

He pledged to work hand in hand with all stakeholders and netizens for the speady development of the Municipality sighting the  deplorable nature of roads in the enclave as a major problem.

"I thank the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, the commander in chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, for the trust he has in me hence my nomination by him as the Municipal Chief Executive, he is and has always being my political godfather. 

I will continue to thank the Honourable Regional Minister, Seth Acheapong, my hardworking member of parliament who is also the Deputy Minister of Education, Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, Honourable Assembly Members and Assembly Staff, Nananom and all gathered here for making my endorsement a success with the whooping 100% yes votes.

Our major problem in Abuakwa North, is our roads, however, after my confirmation, I will together with the Member of Parliament, my own sister, Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, Nananom, and all stakeholders meet up with the Progress Board of Cocoa research Institute and plead with them for slots from what we called Cocoa Roads”. Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Education (TVET), in her remarks, congratulated Alhaji Bodinga for the overwhelming victory and advised him to manage all his followers who will communicate on his behalf well to avoid any loose talk which could go a long way to affect his be position as MCE and government business as a whole negatively.

The Member of Parliament admonished, all loved ones of the MCE to recognize and respect his elevated position as such to avoid any uncalled for situation.

The colourful confirmation process was supervised by the East Akim Manager of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Mr Derrick Ankamah, all the 23 Assembly Members cum Government Appointees voted yes, which represented 100%. Alhaji Umar Bodinga's swearing in was conducted by the Regional Minister.

The well attended ceremony saw the presence of the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon Seth Acheapong, Hon Gifty Twum-Ampofo, MP/ Deputy Minister of Education (TVET), Mrs Ruth Woode, Municipal Coordinating Director, Hon Emmanuel Asare Gyekye, Presiding Member, Hon Akosua Asabea Annoh, MCE Abuakwa South, Departmental Heads and Staff of the Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly, DSP Isaac Ampofo, Abuakwa North Police Commander and men, Regional and Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party , Dasebre Boamah Darko, Okyeman Adontenhene also Akyem Kukurantumihene, the Clergy, representatives of the Municipal Chief Imam, the Press and the general public.
